How much do padel lessons cost in the UK?

Real UK padel lesson prices for private, group and beginner sessions, what's included, and how to pay less per person.

Going by prices UK venues published in November 2026, expect to pay about £35 to £66 for a private hour with a coach, and about £12 to £22 per person for a group session. Private, semi-private or group?

  • Private (one player). The most expensive way to learn, and the fastest way to fix a specific problem such as your bandeja or your positioning off the back glass.
  • Split lesson (two to four players). Usually the best value. At Game4Padel Edinburgh Academy, four people paying £12 each is about a third of the solo price per head, and padel is a doubles game, so learning as a four makes sense.
  • Weekly course. A block of six to thirteen hour-long sessions is a sensible way to get from nothing to confident. Courses may need a minimum number to run: Manchester Padel Club's needs at least three players.
  • Coached socials. Cheap and friendly, and a good way to meet people at your level, but you'll get less individual attention.

Questions to ask before you pay

  • Is the court included? Game4Padel Edinburgh Academy includes it. Park Sports Hyde Park also says its private lesson prices include court hire, for up to three people, with £5 for each extra person. Elsewhere, you may have to pay for the court on top.
  • Is that per person or per lesson? Thongsbridge's £50 is for the group, not each player.
  • Do I need to be a member? Several clubs charge non-members a few pounds more.
  • Are peak and off-peak different? Edinburgh's solo lesson is £10 cheaper off-peak.
  • Can I hire a racket? Many venues do. At Crystal Palace rackets come with the social, and Thongsbridge hires them for £2.

How to pay less

  • Bring friends. Filling all four places is the biggest saving available.
  • Book off-peak if you can: daytime on weekdays is usually cheapest.
  • Ask about first-timer offers. Game4Padel Edinburgh Academy advertises a free introductory lesson for new players, with rackets provided.
  • Look for lesson blocks. Some coaches discount a five or ten-lesson bundle.

What to look for in a coach

The LTA runs a padel coaching pathway that includes the LTA Instructor qualification, and its Coach Accreditation scheme covers padel coaches. Other bodies' padel qualifications exist too. One thing to watch: the LTA's one-off Introduction to padel coaching course is, in its own words, not a formally recognised coaching qualification. It's fine to ask a coach what they hold.

Questions

How much is a padel lesson in the UK?

From prices UK venues published in November 2026, about £35 to £66 for a private hour and about £12 to £22 per person for a group session. Check whether the court is included.

Are padel lessons worth it for beginners?

Yes, if you plan to keep playing. A course teaches positioning and how to play off the glass, which are hard to work out alone. A split lesson with friends is a cheap way to try one.

How many people can share a padel lesson?

Usually up to four, the same as a game. Some venues price by the number of players, so the cost per person falls as you add people.

Do I need my own racket for a padel lesson?

Usually not. Many venues hire rackets or include them in beginner sessions, but check when you book.
